  • Deliveroo plans to create 400 high-skilled tech jobs over the next 12 months as the company looks to support its rapid growth and invest in industry-leading technology
  • The new hires will include software engineers, data scientists, and designers, who will work on a range of innovations to improve the experience for restaurants, riders and consumers
  • The announcement comes after Deliveroo introduces new tech features to help restaurant partners build a more tailored service for their customers

London, 7 July 2021: Deliveroo today announces that it will create 400 high-skilled tech jobs as it looks to support its rapid growth. The announcement reaffirms Deliveroo's commitment to developing its pioneering logistics technology to help restaurants grow and improve efficiency, give riders the work they want, and provide customers with the best selection and experience.

The company is seeking to hire across a range of skill sets including software engineers, product managers, user researchers, designers, and data scientists. The expansion will enable the company to improve the experience of all three sides of the marketplace and allow the company to improve quality of service while gaining efficiency at the same time.

The expanded team will work on a range of projects to support growth, such as improving Deliveroo's on-demand grocery delivery offering, expanding its Signature service, and growing the company's delivery-only Editions kitchens.

Deliveroo's pioneering logistics technology underpins its entire offering based on intelligent machine learning which allows the company to continually improve the nuances of delivering neighbourhood by neighbourhood. The company deploys technology, such as its Frank algorithm, to find the best way of connecting riders, restaurants, and customers to create a best-in-class logistics service. Frank is continuously improving its knowledge-learning capabilities, such as how long it takes a restaurant to prepare a meal to the time it takes to travel a certain route at different times of the day - to make the service even more efficient.

The announcement comes as Deliveroo reveals new tech features which will help restaurant partners to improve connection with their customers and enable them to strengthen their offering. The new features will allow restaurants to receive real-time feedback and reviews from customers - visible only to each restaurant - on their service. Restaurants will benefit from direct restaurant-to-customer communication within the app allowing restaurants to respond to feedback, send vouchers, remedy order issues in real-time, and give personal touches to new or loyal customers.

These brand new tools and features were developed following engagement with restaurants, and will help them maximise their connection with customers and in turn encourage customers to continue ordering delivery and dine-in. These benefits are more vital than ever for restaurants as they look to strengthen their online offering and reach more customers.

Deliveroo is proud to be at the forefront of Britain's dynamic technology sector and we are excited to be expanding our tech team to help drive Deliveroo's growth. These new team members will play a vital role in building best-in-class technology to help restaurants reach new customers, improve rider experience, and give customers access to the food they love.
