• Deliveroo has partnered with WhyQ to expand its Mix & Match concept to hawker centres, helping stall owners increase orders and revenue without disruption to operations, while providing Deliveroo customers with more convenient access to their favourite local gems.

Deliveroo Singapore today announced that it has partnered with Singapore's largest hawker food delivery service, WhyQ, to expand its Mix & Match concept to hawker centres, providing a wider variety of local delights to Deliveroo customers in a single order while easing operational challenges of stall owners. The partnership will first pilot with 15 hawker centres from 6 December 2021, before rolling out to over 50 hawker centres by the end of 2022.

Singapore has no shortage of hawker gems. To support local hawker heroes, Deliveroo's Mix & Match programme aims to help streamline operations for hawkers, including those who are less technologically-savvy, while giving customers increased access to delicious food options. The new partnership allows Deliveroo to bring these local finds together under Mix & Match menus, allowing customers to select dishes from their favourite hawker stalls in one single order for the same delivery fee.

To further encourage customers to support our local hawker community, Deliveroo will offer free delivery for the first two weeks of January and February 2022 for those who spend a minimum of $20 across 15 selected hawkers under Delveroo's Mix & Match concept, with up to 2,000 redemptions.

With 15 Mix & Match concepts at the start of the initiative, Deliveroo is committed to applying its expertise and best practices towards the success of the new initiative, which is currently in its pilot phase. Hawkers can focus on serving up delicious dishes, without having to worry about operational considerations such as manpower and food delivery device management. For example, device managers will help disseminate, centralise and organise orders between hawkers and Deliveroo riders. These dedicated personnel will also be the one communicating with customers and Deliveroo's customer service agents. Likewise, customers can get the most out of their order by choosing from a diverse range of cuisines at a single delivery fee, regardless of whether they're ordering for themselves or their family and friends.

Deliveroo's hawker-focused initiatives also include a recent partnership with long-standing partner Food From the Heart for its Project Belanja! programme, where Deliveroo customers were given the opportunity to support local hawkers during Singapore's Phase Two (Heightened Alert) in August by feeding themselves and the less fortunate. To kickstart the partnership, Deliveroo waived its onboarding fee and welcomed new hawker stalls, including Jack's Kitchen, Xin Kee Hainanese Chicken Rice and Weng Hua Yuan Boneless Hainanese Chicken Rice, onto its platform. The initiative is part of Deliveroo's ongoing global community-focused campaign, Full Life, which aims to utilise its unique network of riders, restaurants and grocers to support communities in cities where Deliveroo operates.
