• Veganuary is here! Deliveroo encourages Aussies to have a healthy start to the new year and explore the flexitarian lifestyle
  • For the month of January, Aussies can score free delivery from over 1,500 restaurants including Zeus Street Greek, Mary’s, Huxtaburger, MadMex and more

Deliveroo is starting 2022 on a fresh note, kicking off the year with Veganuary; a movement encouraging people all around the world to choose more plant-based options for the month of January.

Research reveals that close to half (42%) of Australians qualify themselves as either vegan, vegetarian, flexitarian or as a meat reducer, and another 16% also aim to avoid dairy, with the non-dairy milk sector growing rapidly in Australia.

With Australia being one of the largest vegan communities in the world, Deliveroo's celebration of Veganuary aims to support not only those customers who already choose  plant-based diets, but also those who are keen to explore new cuisines in the new year, showcasing the diversity of menu items and options available on the platform.

From January 3, Deliveroo is teaming up with over 1,500 restaurants nationwide to offer customers free delivery for the ENTIRE MONTH at participating restaurants with plant-based menu items (from Monday 3 January through to Monday 31 January). Whether that be a Pita Wrap with Plant-Based Lamb from Zeus Street Greek or a Vegan Bolognese from Vapiano, now’s the time to explore the new year with your taste buds and dip your toes into flexitarianism.

Jodi Ingham, Commercial Director at Deliveroo, says:

“Last year, more than 500,000 people around the world took on the Veganuary pledge to give a vegan diet a go, so we couldn’t let Veganuary fly by this year without getting in on the action! With our range of restaurants and plant-based menu items, this was a perfect opportunity to really highlight the breadth and diversity of cuisines available to every customer. We hope to see customers trying something new on the menu, or a new restaurant in 2022 - you never know, this could be the time to find your new favourite dish.”

Yanan, General Manager at Oriental Teahouse says:

“We all know that as we start any new year, we want to focus on living healthier lives and this often starts with the food we eat. Understanding that many customers now choose to lead more flexitarian lifestyles, we are always looking for ways to perfect our plant-based dumplings & dishes, ensuring there is enough variety, and of course, taste, for every customer to explore. It’s great to be a part of Veganuary alongside Deliveroo this month, so definitely be sure to make the most of the special offers and try them while you can.”
